The host hotel for the 2009 Southwest Guitar Festival is the Sheraton Gunter, 205 East Houston Sreet, in downtown San Antonio, one block from the Riverwalk. This historic hotel is located immediately next door to the Travis Park United Methodist Church and across the street from the Majestic Theater. UTSA downtown is a 15 minute walk or a short trolley ride. The Gunter is offering a special rate of $109/night for attendees of the Southwest Guitar Festival. San Antonio is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Texas. Our city is a wonderful place to visit, especially in February when the weather is (usually!) outstanding. San Antonio is also an easy place to get to and get around in. There is a low cost shuttle from our international airport to the downtown hotels, a very low cost trolley service covering the entire downtown area, and a free shuttle from UTSA downtown to the 1604 campus.
